Divya grew up in a family of doctors and architects, which shaped her appreciation for education's foundational role. Teaching her maid's daughters sparked a lifelong love and passion to pass the gift of knowledge to others. Despite earning a Master's in Plant Genetics from the University of Florida, her dedication to early childhood education redirected her career path.
She progressed through roles as teacher, manager, director, and regional director, accumulating over 11 years of experience with preschool through middle school students. In 2018, entrepreneurial drive led her to open an after-school center in Fremont, which became so successful it developed a waitlist. She co-founded Achievers with Neeru Vermani and later expanded into acquiring three preschools.
Divya emphasizes that introduction and clarity of basic math, language, science, and social concepts early on is a bedrock for building a successful future. She balances academics with extracurricular activities, believing children need physical, mental, and creative challenges. She views education as an art that touches a student's mind, body, and spirit.
Her ultimate aspiration involves bringing quality early childhood education throughout the Bay Area and eventually to underserved communities globally. Outside work, she pursues art and dance while cherishing time with family and her daughter.
